New City meets for corporate prayer on Sunday mornings before worship. We gather together to praise God for who He is and what He has done for us in Christ. Together we ask the Lord to bless our congregation, particularly remembering the requests that church members have shared. We invite you to come pray with us.
HOW TO PRAY FOR OUR CHURCH?
Let us commit ourselves to praying for our church, that God would guide and strengthen us by His Word and Spirit. May we be a faithful witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our community, reflecting His love and truth, and continually seeking His will and wisdom in all things, to the glory of His name.
Let us pray for our pastor, that he would be filled with the wisdom that comes from above (James 3:17) and faithfully proclaim the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:27). May God spiritually refresh and renew him, protect and provide for his family, and empower him to shepherd the flock with love and diligence.
Let us pray for our elders, that they would serve faithfully, shepherding the flock of God among them (1 Peter 5:2). May God grant them wisdom and discernment in their leadership, and fill them with joy as they oversee the spiritual well-being of the congregation.
Let us pray for our deacons, that they would serve with a sincere heart, holding the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience (1 Timothy 3:9). May God strengthen them in their ministry of mercy and service, and bless their efforts to meet the practical needs of the church.
Let us pray for our staff, that they would be faithful and diligent in their roles. May God equip them with the skills and patience needed, and may they find fulfillment and joy in their service to the church.
Let us pray for our evangelistic and discipleship efforts, that we would boldly proclaim the Gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16). May God open the hearts of those who hear, drawing them to Himself by His sovereign grace.
Let us pray for our world, that God's kingdom would come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10). May He bring peace and justice to the nations, comfort those who suffer, and cause His love and grace to abound. We ask that God would use our church as instruments of His mercy, proclaiming His glory among the nations (Psalm 96:3).
