“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother
and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”
This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers
to Christ and the church. Ephesians 5:31-32
To those prayerfully pursuing marriage, congratulations! God designed marriage as a lifelong covenant in which one man and one woman joyfully serve the Lord together (Genesis 2:18–25). Marriage also provides a living picture of the faithful, sacrificial, enduring, and gracious love—and the unbreakable bond—that exists between Christ and His church (Ephesians 3:19; 5:25–32).
At New City, we conduct weddings for members of our congregation. We believe that couples should be married within the church to which they are committed and where they will receive premarital pastoral counseling and ongoing care. We are able to give proper care and attention only to those who will continue as members of our congregation. For those who are not members, we encourage you to be married in the church where you intend to establish yourselves as devoted church members and grow spiritually to the glory of God.
When you are ready to meet with one of our pastors to discuss marriage and a wedding ceremony, please contact our church office.
